The Citizen Potawatomi are Algonquin-speaking people who originally occupied the Great Lakes region of the United States. The Potawatomi were part of the Three Fires Council comprised of Potawatomi, Oijebwe and Odawa, collectively known as Anishnabek (or Anishinabe) peoples.
