Kick off your holiday season with a festive walk through the lights at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens.
Choose from THREE unique experiences this year!
Luminary Walk
Luminary Walk is presented by Westlake Ace Hardware, FNBO, and Sarin Energy Group. Proceeds benefit Friends of the Arboretum.
Take a stroll along the lit pathways to experience the magical Gnome and Fairy Villages, Marder Garden by candlelight, and the colorful Children's Garden and enjoy musical performances throughout. The gardens are bright with color - while the walkways through quiet woods are lit with candles. Trees, buildings, and bridges are all part of the show, with thousands of lights aglow. Photos with Santa are available from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m., and the trains run in the Train Garden from 5:00 to 8:45 p.m. Complimentary hot cider is available in the Children's Discovery Garden.
- Join us on one of our nine available nights spanning 4 weekends - Nov. 24-25, Dec. 1-2, 7-9, 15-16
- $15 per person; children 5 years and younger are free
- Enter during the half-hour time slot you select. Last entry is at 8:00 p.m. Lights go out at 9:00 p.m.
- Free parking (though it is limited! Overflow parking is available at Wolf Springs Elementary school)
- No pets allowed except for registered service animals.
- Tickets are NOT refundable. Tickets may be exchanged for another night/time based on availability. On your receipt, there will be a link to swap tickets. Use that link to exchange tickets. Electric Glow
Gather your family and friends for a colorful walk through the electric gardens.
Enjoy a low-key version of the Luminary Walk where only the electric lights are on. No Santa, no candlelit woods, no musicians, no free cider, no trains running, and NO CROWDS. Capacity will be significantly limited on these nights, making them ideal for wandering through the lighted gardens and studying the intricate gnome and fairy houses.
- Join us Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Nov. 28 & 29, Dec. 5 & 6, 12 & 13, 19 & 20
- $10 per person; children 5 years and younger are free
- Enter during the half-hour time slot you select. Last entry is at 7:00 p.m. Lights go out at 8:00 p.m.

Leave the kids at home! The Adults-Only Candlelight Stroll is for those looking for a quieter Luminary Walk experience that still features the glow of candles through the woods, dazzling light displays, live musical performances and the enchanting gnome houses, all without children. It's the ideal wintry date night – or "friends night out" – much more peaceful than the exuberant family-fun atmosphere of the traditional Friday and Saturday night Luminary Walks. This “Date Night” version of the Luminary Walk will truly be an adults-only event: Children under 18 will not be admitted. We invite those with kiddos to attend the traditional Luminary Walk with Santa and the excitement of a family-oriented holiday event.
- Two nights only - Thursdays, Nov. 30 and Dec. 14
- $16 per person
