Museum Town Hall Johnson Drive, Kansas City, Missouri 66203
"If you want to see some sin, forget about Paris and go to Kansas City"
The 1920s was a wild time in our town - gambling joints, bootleg hooch and just about every type of corruption you could think of! Come as your favorite gangster, femme fatale, or bootlegger! Alan Akers will teach us to Tango, along with other popular 1920s dance steps. There will be light 1920's style hors d'oeuvres catered byRidgeway Catering and a cash bar with special Prohibition cocktails and other libations.
Shawnee Town is excited to have on display and available for purchase photos by Orval Hixon. Hixon photographed hundreds of rising stars of vaudeville, stage and early film from 1915 to 1930 in his KC studio. From Al Jolsen and Buddy Rogers, to Fanny Brice and Joan Crawford, all posed for Hixon.
