Be inspired! Poles adorned with messages of peace and hope dot the landscape at Black Hoof Park.
More than 30 six-foot-tall wooden poles designed with messages of peace and hope are on display at Black Hoof Park until Sept. 30.
Residents, community groups and businesses submitted designs for their pole ideas in January. Their sketches went before a jury review process in February and applicants were notified in March of their acceptance. Participants had six weeks to implement their designs.
The Peace Poles Community Art Project was organized as a partnership between the Lenexa Rotary Club, Lenexa Arts Council and the City of Lenexa.
How to see the poles
Park near the boat dock at Black Hoof Park and walk south to view the poles.
