Phil Vassar Concert
Phil Vassar returns to Yardley Hall! Fans love his expressive and energetic shows; no two are ever alike. His incisive, soulful lyrics and infectious melodies capture the hearts of audiences of all ages.
This award-winning singer/songwriter is as driven today as he was when he first launched his career more than 20 years ago. Vassar says he loves crafting songs as much as he loves performing them.
Often referred to as country's leading piano man, Vassar is producing some fresh hits with his most recent albums – American Soul and American Soul Summer – released within six months of each other in 2016 and 2017. Lyrical themes in the new albums include the power of strong relationships and a passion for the USA. For Vassar, it's important for the songs he writes to carry a message and make the listener feel something.
Vassar knows success. He has hit the Top 5 numerous times with songs you remember like "Carlene," "In a Real Love" and perennial favorite "Just Another Day in Paradise." As one of Nashville's top tunesmiths, Vassar attracts major artists who have taken his songs to No. 1: "My Next Thirty Years" by Tim McGraw, "She's Right on the Money" by Alan Jackson as well as "Bye, Bye" and "I'm Alright" by Jo Dee Messina.
In recent years Vassar has expanded his presence with a new podcast video series, Songs from the Cellar, featuring wine-infused intimate and comedic banter unlike any other show on air or online.
In a nutshell, Vassar is a piano-pounding powerhouse … enthusiastic vocalist …. skilled musician … and gifted composer. Don’t miss his performance Saturday, May 5, in Yardley Hall in the Carlsen Center at Johnson County Community College.
