You and your preschoolers will love the stories from long ago, read by a special guest from the 1950s All-Electric House! After the story, enjoy an art activity. An adult must attend program with child. Can be booked as a field trip for groups - call for details! Pre-register or Purchase tickets at the door on the day of event.

1 - 45 min. session - $2 per participating child, museum members receive a 20% discount. Does not include admission to KidScape and the museum.

- April 4 at 10am
- May 2 at 10am: “THE THREE BEARS” - Illustrated by Feodor Rojankovsky, this classic Little Golden Book edition of the famous folk tale has brought Goldilocks and the three bears to life since 1948. Cut and color your own set of characters from the book after the story!
- June at 10am: “A DAY AT THE SEASHORE” -Nancy and Timmy hop out of their beds one summer morning and help pack their swimsuits and lunch. And then it's off to the seashore! In a charming rhyme, this Little Golden Book from 1951 describes what preschoolers will find there. Create a beach-themed craft after the story ends.
- July 11 at 10am: “THE TELEPHONE” - What household tools and technology did people use a long time ago? Published in 1974, shows children what common items like a telephone and camera looked like in the past. Number and color a phone of your own.
- Aug 1 at 10am: “DOCTOR DAN THE BANDAGE MAN” - Little Dan stops crying over a scratch as soon as Mother puts a bandage on it. Soon the dolls and the family dog in Dan’s house are wearing bandages too! This charming story from the 1950s is featured in the Smithsonian’s collection. Use band aids for a craft when the story ends, then take care of the patients in KidScape’s kid-sized hospital!
