Science City Is celebrating Week of the Young Child®, an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the world’s largest early childhood education association. April 5 through the 11th we will have special activities in Science City focusing on early learners. All activities begin at 11 AM!
Tasty Tuesday | Tuesday, April 8th 11 AM – 1 PM
Children will learn about different textures of food through a series of demonstrations and discussions involving fruit dissection. Adult supervision is required. While supplies last.
Work Together Wednesday | Wednesday, April 9th 11 AM – 1 PM
Today is all about how animals work together for their hibernation periods. Children will learn about hibernation through movement and play by using a series of costumes and creating their own animal masks.
Artsy Thursday | Thursday, April 10th
Baby Paint Crawl 11 AM: Join us for a Baby Art Crawl. During this event, the PNC Learning Lab will be transformed into a blank canvas for our youngest artists to unleash their creativity, explore with their senses and get messy. Babies and toddlers (18 months and younger) can strip down to their diapers and create with (non-toxic) paint. Adult attendance and participation is required.
Family Friday | Friday, April 11th 11 AM – 1 PM
The whole family is invited to a circle time in the PNC Learning Lab. We will read books about different types of families and talk about roles each family member has. To finish the circle time, we will encourage young children to make a chore chart for themselves and family members.
