Due to the heavy amounts of rain we received over the last week and yesterday, the City of Sugar Creek, City of Independence, and Great American Kites and Events will be canceling the Sky-High Kite Festival scheduled for tomorrow, May 4, 2024. We want to thank all the families, food trucks, and individuals who worked with us to plan this day of family fun and look forward to announcing a 2025 date at the beginning of next year. A reminder that once the weather dries out - Sugar Creek and Independence have many great parks with open areas, away from power lines, to fly your small kites during the year to get ready for 2025
