Special Feature Storytime: Folklore
to
Johnson County Library - Central Resource Branch 9875 W 87th St, Overland Park, Kansas 66212
The whole family will enjoy our Folklore Storytime, designed to inspire audience participation. Each week in June and July we will focus on folklore, which encompasses both folktales and fairy tales. Stories, songs, fingerplays and movement activities foster early literacy skills in young children.
Older kids, long after they can read on their own, receive boosts in listening, comprehension and spoken language skills during Folklore Storytime. Plus, it’s fun! We encourage kids to dress up as their favorite fairy tale or folktale character and we’ll welcome them to this virtual storytime as they arrive. It’s going to be magical! Best for ages 4-10.
This program will be held on Facebook Live. Visit JoCoLibrary on Facebook and be sure to ‘follow’ us to get notifications when we go Live if you have a Facebook account. You do not need a Facebook account to participate in this program.
