This family friendly interactive event showcases St. Joseph and Buchanan County's contributions to the state with the St. Joseph 2021: from steam to S.T.E.A.M. festival. The focus will be on the Northwest Missouri's contributions - past to present - in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. Festival features include the Music History Tour, St. Joseph Chautauqua, Innovation Zone, and from Folk Art to Fine Art. Adults and children alike will have the opportunity to participate in S.T.E.A.M. activities from chalk art to robot races. Whether it is meatpacking, scientific discoveries, agriculture, or manufacturing, area businesses have been on the frontier of discovery for generations. All types of area businesses will be on hand to show past accomplishments, demonstrate their current projects, and give a preview of upcoming innovations. Hands on activities will engage children in learning about early mail delivery courtesy of the National Pony Express Museum. What was life like in rural Missouri?
Children will get a feel for such activities as riding a tractor and milking a cow courtesy of the Andrew County Museum.
