Storling Dance Theater's "Sower"
to
Störling Dance Theater presents an eclectic collection of choreographers, music and mediums to create an unique and moving concert.
After years in the archives, Mona Enna will revive one of her original pieces, Sower. One of the first pieces to garner her attention and a passionate following, Sower brings to life the Biblical, Parable of the Sower. A parable that has kept people pondering their life in the most profound of ways, Störling-Enna creates a tribal context to give life and reality to this parable about the earth and sun, faith and passion, community and individuality.
Also premiering will be new works by one of our favorite Störling influences and leaders, Tobin James, former Störling Soloist, Courtney Kierl-Bourman, and company member, Tiffany Best. Kierl-Bourman will be setting her new work, Hunger, on the company, which in its trial stage already has people talking. A lot! Best will be setting a new work to Nicole Nordeman’s Every Season to compliment the presentation of Sower and draw even more deeply from God’s connecting man to earth, eternity to the present.
Sower also includes an innovative use of live dancing and animation designed specifically for the production originally set in 1999. Also contributing will be makeup artist, Kristen Alley, who will be crafting the tattoo design for the tribe. We are excited to combine these various artistic influences to create a memorable experience for all ages.
