The Great Wind Festival

The Great Wind Festival will provide a whirlwind of activities for families with lots of hands-on experiences. After spending the winter months indoors, we will spend the day outside, celebrating the windy weather with wind-powered activities. This year the event is sponsored by the Leawood Lions Club, a local service organization helping hundreds of men and women since 1954 to promote the betterment of our community.
The scheduled activities include Kites ~ Paper Airplanes ~ Wind Powered Cars ~ an Aviation Simulator ~ Rocket Launching ~ Fly Me to the Moon ~ Flying Saucer Dock Game ~ Paper Windmill Making ~ Parachute Drop ~ Rain Gutter Regatta ~ Photo Booth ~ Fishing and we are hoping, a Hot Air Balloon.
