Time Travelers - Down on the Farm
Step back in time to the 1920's at Shawnee Town 1929 Museum. Today you'll be in the garden planting seeds or harvesting vegetables which you can take home, weeding, sorting seeds, and guessing which seed grows into which plant. Wash and bundle veggies and hand till garden rows with our cultivator. Color and fly balsa wood airplanes in honor of Charles Lindbergh who made the world's first solo transatlantic flight in his plane, the Sprit of St. Louis, in 1927. Today we'll also be hand churning ice cream. Yummmmm!
Today's feature activity: Leatherworking with Cornie Neufeld, retired nurse and Kansas farmer.
Time Travelers activities change every week through August 9th. This is the last week for the "In the Garden" program.
