This year, our family decided to make a "bucket list" of fall fun... things we wanted to be sure to do to enjoy the season! You can find many cute ideas for bucket lists on mom blogs, but I decided to go simple and I purchased a kit to make 36 foam jack-o-lanterns with foam stickers. We wrote one item on our list on the back of each pumpkin, then the girls decorated the front with a face. I punched holes in the pumpkins and hung them from a banner in our dining room as we completed the items on our list!
We've already enjoyed many fall traditions, but we have more to go to complete our list! This is our list of 36 Fun Fall Activities:
- Visit the Louisburg Cider Mill and watch as cider is made from scratch.
- Roast Marshmallows.
- Make apple crisp.
- Go Apple picking.
- Decorate Pumpkins. (Note: We do this 3 ways: 1) We buy a fake look-alike pumpkin at Michael's pick a design, and parents carve it. 2) We decorate real pie pumpkins by painting them and decorating them with the Pumpkin Kit from Mr. Potato Head. I love these safe solutions for little ones!)
- Make applesauce.
- Visit Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead and feed the animals.
- Visit the American Royal Bar-B-Q.
- Go through a Corn Maze.
- Visit the Pumpkin Patch.
- Eat Pumpkin Donuts.
- Read apple books.
- Make a pot of potato soup.
- Make a pot of chili.
- Attend Magic Woods at Lakeside Nature Center.
