Johnson Farms Plants & Pumpkins: Family Fun Tips
2023 Edition
Our girls look forward to an annual visit to Johnson Farms Pumpkin Patch.
This year, the patch introduced a BRAND-NEW "Coach Reid" Corn Maze for Chiefs Fans! And a NEW Giant Adventure Barn with ping pong, and various games!
Our family loves the beautiful sunflowers, giant pumpkins, the GIANT jumping pillows, fun play areas, the barnyard arcade, and picking fresh veggies and apples... their list of favorites is long. This year, they were excited to take friends to the patch and show them around. This was the first time our pals had ever been to Johnson Farms, and they like our family, LOVED LOVED LOVED the hospitality and fun at the farm! We ALL give this patch a hearty two thumbs up!
Johnson Farms Pumpkin Patch is friendly, clean, and overflowing with farm fun you won't find at your nearby park. As a working farm, this is a great agricultural field trip with animals and a real farm to explore.
At Johnson Farms, they have one of the largest real pumpkin patches in the area with small, medium, and large pumpkins to pick off the vine. Ride the hay wagon out to the field and pick your pumpkin! They also provide wheelbarrows to help transport your pumpkins, apples, and veggies back to the main building. You may park your wheelbarrow in their "lot" while you play.
All of my girls love the fall flowers. They also love picking fresh vegetables in the field and apples in their orchard.

Visitors are welcome to enjoy lunch at the Barnyard Grill where they serve hot dogs, nachos, and snacks. And, most importantly, they make fabulously delicious pumpkin donuts! The girls love the cider slushes. Seriously, this is excellent food and you'll want to plan to stay for lunch.
What to Know Before You Go 2023:
- Visit their online ticket page to purchase season passes or daily tickets for your visit.
- This is U-Pick Farm! Pick pumpkins, apples, sunflowers, and veggies at this real working farm!
- Pumpkin Spice Donuts AND Appler Cider Donuts (they are now offering both fall favorites!) and Cider Slushies will be available every day during the season.
Our Pumpkin Patch Tips:
- Wear layers. It is often chilly early or late in the day but can warm up as the sun shines around noon.
- Wear comfy shoes for playing on a farm. Tennis shoes, rubber boots, or farm boots work.
- Remember sunglasses and sunscreen.
- Take photos!
- Come rested. Plan your visit around nap times.
