Once a simple apple cider stand, Louisburg Cider Mill has grown into one of Kansas City’s famous family farms and country stores. Nothing says fall in Kansas City more than drinking a Louisburg Cider Mill slushie on a warm day or sipping hot apple cider on a crisp, fall day! This year, they are celebrating their roots and reflecting on their “Apple Era.” Join the celebration by visiting their country store for some cider and a fresh donut! Their family farm, located in the same lot, has even more ways to enjoy your fall! Just look at what the tickets include:
- 10-acre Corn Maze
- Giant Swing
- Low Challenge Elements
- Mount Sunflower Slide
- Huge Corn Cribs
- Access to 10-acre pumpkin patch
- Wagon Rides
- Learning Barn
- BeeHive Exhibit
- Spider Web Climber
- Farm Animals
- Tricycle Track
- Tire Tower
- Farm Swing Set
- Tee Pee
- Little Apple Playground
Louisburg Cider Mill is the perfect fall outing for any age. We visited with our young ones under three, who could have had hours of fun in the corn cribs alone. Meanwhile, we also rode on wagons alongside middle and high schoolers who gasped with excitement as we turned around the corn field to see even more playgrounds and the tire tower. Of course, my husband and I enjoyed our visit as well—playing yard games with the kids, challenging each other on the strongman game, and admiring the variety of pumpkins that can be picked straight from the vine.
2024 Attractions & Details:
The Country Store
Open all year round, you can visit the country store at no cost for everything you would expect from a country store: apple jams, butters, jellies, and various apple gadgets. They sell local honey, sparkling ciders, and fall decor to match their pumpkin trend. It's a great place to pick up stocking stuffers or basket stuffers for any gift! I love their wide assortment of spice and dip packets and of course, their apple butter is an absolute staple for any K.C. family.
The Cider Mill
While there are no apple trees on-site for picking, there are still sites to see! Watch the cider-making process all the way from washing the apples to bottling the cider. Viewing for free is always an option during operable hours, but you can even schedule a guided tour which will include more discussion on the cider-making process as well as a cup of cider and fresh donuts. A REAL 10-acre Pumpkin Patch!
Pumpkins can be purchased at the country store, or you can venture into the fields and pick your own. Pumpkins range in cost from $3 - $25 depending on the size. We were delighted with the variety of pumpkins which made the picking and exploring all the more fun, while supporting a local business!
The Corn Maze
Louisburg Cider Mill says they are, “In Their Apple Era,” and so, they have themed their 10-acre corn maze to reflect this and celebrate their cider production. Good news: the Corn Maze is included in the price of admission to the pumpkin patch! TIPS: Use the restroom before venturing out to the corn maze and wear shoes/boots that can get muddy!
Countless Photo Opportunities and Just As Many Play Areas
Aside from the natural beauties already on the farm, there are countless hay bales and trucks decorated with pumpkins and scarecrows for every fall photo you could want. Don’t miss out on a great opportunity for a family photo! I don’t want to miss the chance to mention the countless areas for play either, and if you have littles, schedule plenty of time for the corn cribs. There are hours of entertainment, new corners to turn and explore, and slides and swings a plenty to enjoy.

Pumpkin Patch Preparations:
Wear long pants and comfy shoes or boots that can be played in easily. We recommend layers as it may be chilly in the mornings and warm by the afternoon.
Be prepared for how long you’d like to stay and pack accordingly. We stayed all morning and packed a lunch to eat with the cider donuts to make sure we had all the energy needed to continue playing in the afternoon.
You can easily enjoy the family farm and country store without too much walking—especially since there is a wagon ride from one play area to the next. We loved bringing our stroller for the littles though and walking around the fields too.
Bring water and stay hydrated! There are plenty of drink options available for purchase, but we always like to have our water ready.
