Fall is right around the corner, which means all the fun fall activities are here! A new fun activity for our family is Johnson Farms Plants and Pumpkins. Located just south of Highway 150 off Holmes Rd., this family-owned farm is full of all the fall fun you could want.
They have a corn maze that celebrates the recently engaged Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. Pick your own apples, veggies, flowers, and—when they are ready—pumpkins, all for an extra fee. There are also many options for your kids to play. They have a barn full of inflatables, from racing through an obstacle course, foam axe throwing, testing athletic skills, and even an inflatable for littles to play on. If being in the barn isn’t for your kids, there are two inflatable pillows they can jump on outside that overlook the fields of growing pumpkins and sunflowers. Make sure to check which pillow your kids should jump on—there is one for big kids and one for little kids. If jumping and inflatables don’t excite them, maybe the play place will. I would compare the size of this play place to one found at an indoor restaurant and say it’s four times bigger. This is where we spent most of our time. Next to the play place are two smaller playgrounds for younger kids. Don’t forget the corn pits, which they also have separated by kids’ size. If all those don’t wear your kids out, there is another barn with Ping-Pong tables, lawn-size Jenga upstairs, and two slides. Picture-perfect opportunities are throughout—fall tunnels to climb through and plenty of space to run. Don’t forget the bounce corral, bubble station, and tractor-pulled train ride.
Once you’ve worn the kids out and they are hungry and thirsty, visit one of the multiple drink and snack stations. We had the apple cider donuts and apple slush; both are a must. They are also perfecting their pumpkin donut hole recipe, so keep your eyes open for those! Another goodie we want to try is their corn dog, along with other flavored slushies.
You can visit the retail store or fun farm side every day from 9 a.m.–7 p.m. until October 31, weather permitting of course. The retail side is where they sell all their beautiful mums! The retail side is always free to visit. There is an admission fee for the farm side, but if you plan on visiting more than once, get the season pass, which is only sold online! Have fun and enjoy all that Johnson Farms Plants and Pumpkins has to offer.
