A
t KC Parent and KC Baby we're excited about the arrival of all new babies! Yesterday, the world celebrated the news that Kate Middleton and Prince William welcomed their first child, a brand new baby boy. The young prince, third in line for the throne, is welcomed with much pomp and circumstance including a royal birth announcement at Kensington Palace. An aide drove to Buckingham Palace with the announcement in hand, first handing it to Queen Elizabeth to read, and then placing it by the gates for the public to read.
It read: "Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 4.24 p.m. The baby weighs 8 pounds 6 ounces. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well."
The arrival of a new young prince has sparked an interest in all things British... if you're looking to entertain your inner Anglophile, but you're stuck "across the pond" in Kansas City, not in London rejoicing with England, you will be excited to learn that you can enjoy a taste of Britain right in your own backyard.

Married Love: Statue of Lady & Winston Churchill
Located at the SW corner of Ward Parkway and Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO on the Country Club Plaza. A British & American Flag fly overhad the bronze sculpture of Lady Churchill and Sir Winston Churchill. This statue depicting British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and his wife, Clementine seated on a bench, was created for this location. Artist Nemon, who knew Churchill for 30 years, had created a smaller version of the statue for Blenheim Palace, where Churchill was born and married.
