Lenexa Summer Camp. Make memories that will last a lifetime this summer! Enjoy a traditional day camp experience jam-packed with age-appropriate exciting indoor and outdoor games, team building, contests and hands-on challenges and projects designed for their skill level and camp theme. Each week will include multiple swimming trips and a field trip.
- Week 1 | Howdy Summer| June 2-6. Saddle up for a good time kicking off the summer fun! Embrace the spirit of adventure and summer as we wrangle up a week of Western-themed activities, challenges, and adventures as we build excitement for the summer season!
- Week 2 | Messy Camp | June 9-13. Spend the week doing what kids do best — making a mess! Throughout the week, campers will participate in the messiest of projects and games, such as tie-dye, shaving cream painting, and making fluffy slime.
- Week 3 | Adventure Quest | June 16-20* *No camp Thursday, June 19. Embark on outdoor adventures where we'll explore, solve puzzles, complete challenges, and work together to explore the great outdoors through nature-based games and activities!
- Week 4 |Color Me Crazy | June 23-27. Jump into a week bursting with color and creativity! Campers will immerse themselves in color activities, create masterpieces filled with color, and participate in colorful team competitions.
- Week 5 | Stars & Stripes | June 30-July 3* | *No camp Friday, July 4. Celebrate the fun and exciting American traditions. From patriotic crafts to lively games, join us for a star-spangled adventure filled with red, white, and blue spirit.
- Week 6 | Walk of Fame | July 7-11. Discover and celebrate your unique talents! From dazzling performances to creative activities and interpretations, we’re creating a stage where kids can shine! Get ready to discover and showcase your own extraordinary and creative talents!
- Week 7 | Marvelous Machines| July 14-18. Let's learn about how machines work by building, experimenting, and designing various structures through creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork! Curious minds wanted!
- Week 8 | Splash Pass| July 21-25.Get ready to make a splash with water fun! We'll spend the week staying cool, creating water-themed crafts, and playing water games and activities. Don’t forget your bathing suit, sunscreen, and towels for a wet and wild week!
- Week 9 | Camp Rewind | July 28-Aug. 1. Thanks for the great memories, Summer! We'll bring together the most beloved games, crafts and adventures from the summer. Bring the energy for the grand finale and end the summer with smiles, laughter and unforgettable memories.
Pop-up Art Camp: Art in the Parks. Join us for a creative art adventure at our Pop-Up Art Camp! Whether you're kicking off the summer or wrapping it up, this camp offers a fun, hands-on exploration of various art processes, including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and photography. Our art projects will be inspired by nature, with visits to local parks to explore the outdoors.
Super Soccer Stars Camp. Dive into the basics or amp up your game. This three-hour, weeklong camp focuses on a different skill each day including passing, dribbling, shooting, defending and game play.
STEAM & History Camp. Kick off the summer with this unique STEAM and History Camp! Come ready to have fun, get physical and use your brain power. Campers will learn about Lenexa's connection to early aviation and explore ways air travel changed the world.
Amazing Athletes Camp. This introduces children to the fundamentals of 10 sports in a fun non-competitive environment, helping them develop physical literacy, learn about nutrition and muscle identification, while mastering 6 key motor skills. The Amazing Athletes curriculum is custom designed to provide both variety and repetition through interactive sports lessons
LEGO Camps. Let your imagination run wild with tens of thousands of LEGO® parts! Build engineer-designed projects and use special pieces to create your own unique designs! Projects are rotated seasonally to ensure that both new and returning students can explore the endless creative possibilities of the LEGO® building system.
Chess Camp. Join us for Chess Camp by Kansas City Chess Club! This camp is designed to introduce youth to chess strategy and tactics while having fun. Certified staff will show beginners through advanced students how to improve their play. Daily activities will include casual play, chess lessons and training exercises.
Livin’ the Dream. A four-day basketball camp focuses on skill development, game play and contests. Each day includes an inspirational speech designed to motivate participants. LTD instructors are high school coaches and current/former college and professional basketball players.
Movie Makers: Ages 9-16, June 23-26This hands-on, interactive course will instruct students on the world of digital video design and production. Students will film, direct and edit their own digital video creations. Students enrolled in this course amaze their peers with green screen and special effects work.
Video Game Design and Development: Ages 10-16, June 23-26This course provides students with a fun interactive look at the world of video game design and development. Students enrolled in this camp will learn the basics of video game design and produce several different interactive video games to share with their friends and family.
Animation: Ages 9-16, July 21-24In this class students will learn the basics of animation and digital design. Students who enjoy going to various sites to see fun interactive animations will love this course. This class will utilize Adobe's award-winning animation software in Adobe Flash. Students will create fun interactive animations that they can share with the world.
Roblox Studio-Programming & Game Development: Ages 9-15, July 21-24Calling all ROBLOX users! Join in with millions of gamers and immerse yourself in your own 3D world! ROBLOX Studio is a 3D-based program that uses physics, LUA programming, and individual creativity to build a world around you, and your avatar - unlike any other software This course will guide students through concepts such as beginner physics, LUA programming, and game development. Students in this course will build and published their multi-player game to share with friends and family!
Code Studio: Ages 6-12, August 4-7This course offers younger students a fun, interactive look at coding. Students will create virtual apps and write their own programs that they can share with friends and family. This course makes learning to code fun and explores problem solving and programming logic. Students will have access to their accounts, so the learning does not end at the door. **Students should be able to read prior to taking this course.
iGame Creators: Ages 6-10, August 4-7Want to create video games? This is an introductory course for younger students who want to learn to build simple video games. This course combines the art of video game design and animation to create interactive characters that fly around the screen. Amaze your friends and family with your fun interactive games.
Gaming and Coding: Ages 6-12, August 4-7This course combines two unbelievable experiences for students, gaming and coding. Students spend the morning taking an interactive look at coding and building virtual apps to share with friends. In the afternoon, students build simple video games combining the art of video game design and animation to create interactive characters that fly around the screen. Students are encouraged to bring a sack lunch.
