This will be the new home to the Lee’s Summit Farmers Market, bringing together a diverse lineup of local vendors offering fresh produce, handmade goods, and delicious eats. Supporting dozens of small businesses, Green Street is poised to become a cornerstone for the community’s love of shopping local. As someone who’s on a huge farmers market kick, I can’t wait to be a regular attendee, especially since the market is shaded and both indoor and outdoor, which makes shopping comfortable no matter the weather.
During the grand opening last weekend, Green Street kicked off its first events and performances, bringing the space to life with music, fun, and community spirit. Whether you’re planning a date night, a casual afternoon with the kids, or a lively celebration with friends, Green Street’s flexible layout and vibrant atmosphere make it the perfect destination.
Built with families in mind, Green Street features movable seating areas, shaded turf fields, and a cutting-edge playground that, as a young-at-heart adult, I’m genuinely excited to explore with the kids. The colorful LED light displays will transform the space after dark, adding a magical touch to evenings. Beautiful landscaping and thoughtful design details honor Lee’s Summit’s history, creating a place that feels both fresh and rooted in community pride.
Even the practical touches show the care behind the design, family-friendly restrooms and a dedicated nursing mom’s room with air conditioning make this spot especially welcoming. As a nursing mom myself, I truly appreciate that thoughtful comfort.
