This was a busy week at school. We celebrated Catholic Schools Week AND also celebrated the 100th day of school. To mark the 100th day, the first graders are asked to put together a 100s day project-find 100 objects and display them. When Tori was in first grade, we came up with the idea to do 100 faces of Tori. We scoured photo albums and online albums to find 100 of our favorite Tori photos. To this day, we still have the poster board with 100 photos of Tori displayed. I love to take a peek at it!
I was thrilled Ally chose the same route. We had so much fun looking through old photos, reminiscing and remembering. I think the biggest revelation was that Ally's blanket (Fifi) used to be bright! He is on the dingy side these days and Ally couldn't believe how nice and bright Fifi used to be!
And, honestly, it made me feel so much better, because I have always worried that I don't have nearly as many photos of Ally as I do Tori, and while I do have more of Tori, I found in looking through albums that I have plenty of Ally as well.
Even if you don't have a need to make a collage of 100 faces, I'd encourage you to do so. It doesn't take nearly as much time as you think, you'll have a ball remembering old times with your child and you'll end up with a priceless memento!
