One of my memories of childhood includes using a rotary dial telephone. I can remember the table my mom kept it on mostly for decoration. It worked, but it was old-fashioned even then. My friends were often fascinated by it. I’m still hoping to talk my mom into giving it to me one day.
Fast forward a couple of years and I had a see-through telephone. Fancy, right? By the time I was in high school, I had a red cordless phone. Could it get any better?
Now, I wonder if my children would look at that clear plastic phone or even the red cordless one and consider them as old-fashioned as I did that heavy old black rotary dial phone. Rotary dial was a bit different from a touch screen.
Until recently, I had a cell phone I used only for talking and texting. I had an iPod that plays audio files and short video clips. That was it and I thought it was quite enough. Honestly, it was, but that doesn’t mean I’m not enjoying my new iPad. It’s a far cry from being old-fashioned. But, I’m used to old-fashioned. Blame it on all that use of my favorite rotary phone. That’s why I need your help!
Let’s start a list of favorite apps. If you play along and leave a comment, then the next reader will be likely to do the same. Are you in?
Okay, I’ll start. The first thing I installed was Angry Birds. Yeah, even I knew about that one.
Do you know about a magic app that will keep my family perfectly organized this school year? Or, how about an app that does my laundry? (Well, someone should make an app that does that!)
Your turn. What’s your favorite app?
