Soccer kicked off over the weekend. (Lame pun intended.) So we began our rushing around to get kids to soccer games and a birthday party. Due to the busy day, I only caught about a quarter of my daughter’s first game. As I left, the score was tied. It wasn’t long before that changed.
“They are getting killed,” texted my husband.
My response: “Bummer.”
“She doesn’t care,” he texted. “She is dancing on defense.”
Can’t you see it? Most of the girls are following the ball around the field and one little girl is dancing near her team’s goal. Her team is being destroyed and she’s dancing. The ball comes near her and she does what she can to help. Otherwise, she’s dancing.
I wish I lived life like that. If you’re on a team, sometimes you can do your personal best and still lose. It’s a lot like life. Sometimes kids have the best perspective.
What have you learned from your kids lately?
