My girls love to play games... card games, board games, and good old-fashioned Hide and Seek, Tag, and the like. But, it seems for years we've been in the preschool game phase.
It has been my observation that the best games for preschoolers are the games we played as children. The classics still hold up. Many of the new children's games we've explored seem to be unnecessarily complicated with elaborate details that are impossible to remember. Repetition and simplicity are key for a great kids' game. So our favorite Preschool Games have been:
- Candy Land
- Hi Ho Cherrio
- Pig Tails
- Memory
- Old Maid
- Go Fish
- Chutes & Ladders
Over the past few months, we've been excited to graduate to Uno, Clue Jr. (which is really as much fun as Clue), Operation, Jenga, Twister, and Pictionary.
I have to say, Family Game Night is much more fun with these new games in the mix and the progressive addition of more and more engaging games.
What are your family favorites for Game Night with young children?
