So, we're a month into the New Year, and how are you doing with your resolutions you made? I don’t know about you, but it seems for me that once I say a goal out loud, it becomes much harder to keep. My resolutions tend to always seem the same – maybe shed a few pounds by eating healthier, give up pop (not that I drink a ton to begin with), exercise 3x a week, and wake up early in the morning to spend time having a much needed devotional with the Lord.
But this year, I have decided to do something a little different. Something that can be lasting, even on those days that I “fail” at any resolution I may have set for 2010. I am going to give you five….that is, five things to be thankful for in 2010.
I am praying that when the curve balls and valleys come in 2010, I’ll think back to this list and remember not to despair. So here are my five things I am thankful for in 2010…
- First and foremost, I can hold the truth of Romans 8:28 in anything that may come my way. It says, “And we know that in ALL THINGS, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
- Lord willing, I will have completed my Master’s Degree in Elementary Educaiton in May 2010 through the support and encouagment of my husband.
- I have a daughter who is happy, smiley, curious, and intelligent, and who challenges me to be a better mom for her well-being and development.
- I have a husband who is committed to me, our marriage, and our daughter, and he treats me with grace and kindness when I least deserve it.
- I am thankful that my life is not my own, that God is entirely control of every breath I take, and I can rest in His will even if I don’t understand it.
What are some things you can be thankful for in 2010?
