Places around KC turn your child’s hard work into a treat!
It is hard to believe that we are at the end of another school year. I am sure your child(ren) worked hard all year long to get good grades and excel – prompting them to move up another grade in the fall.
While a report card’s prime positioning on the front of the refrigerator is always exciting for your child, something in return for those good grades is always better! And when that reward is something that doesn’t cost Mom and Dad anything… well that is even better!
Several merchants in and around Kansas City participate in good grade rewards programs. Simply visit their location and show your child’s report card to get some great things in return! While all of these offers have been confirmed at various Kansas City locations, it is always best to contact your local store to verify they are participating. Here are a few to try:
Blockbuster Video: When your child’s report card shows a “B” average (2.7, satisfactory, or 80 percent rating) or better, he or she will get a FREE video rental. Just bring in your child’s report card, which has been signed by a parent or legal guardian, to get a free video rental. Your child will be able to choose a non-new release DVD within 30 days from the date the report card is issued. The student must be in Kindergarten through 12th grade. If you have more than one child, then each one of them will get his or her own free rental. This could make for a FUN family evening in! Check out www.Blockbuster.com/goodgrades for more details.
Krispy Kreme: Bring in your child’s report card. For each “A” that he or she has – your student will be rewarded with one donut! So five “A’s” = five donuts! Your dentist may not love you, but your children surely will!
Chuck E. Cheese: At the end of the grading period, just take your child’s report card into any Chuck E. Cheese and he or she can earn 15 tokens. The only catch is that you must purchase a meal to get this offer. Bring on the games!
Interstate Bakeries Outlet: When your child’s report card has all “A’s” or “B’s” or a combination of both, print out the Student Achievement Award (www.BakeryOutlets.com/2schoolachievement.html) and have your child’s teacher sign it. Then, take it with you to a local Dolly Madison/Hostess/Wonder Outlet Store and your child can receive a free sweet treat. Mom and dad get a free loaf of bread as a bonus!
Coach’s Corner Sport Shop - Belton, MO: Stop on in and show your child’s report card in exchange for free baseball cards. If your child has an “A” on his or her report card, a chance to spin the Wheel of Fortune—for another free card—is in order! Plus, if your child gets an “A” on a test during the school year, the owner will give a free Chiefs or Royals baseball card when you stop on in and show the test.
If you happen to home school your child, don’t worry – you too can get in on these offers. Just be sure to present the grade card that you issue for your child at the end of the year.
Try to help your student get in on several of these great offers. After all – I am sure they have worked hard and deserve a special treat to kick off the summer!
