When I first saw these flowers, I assumed they would be super complicated. I mean, oragami seems to me to be a really intricate, takes tons of patience kind of an art. But, I found this tutorial: http://www.origami-instructions.com/origami-kusudama-flower.html and was off and running! It is called a Kusudama Flower, and they are my new favorite thing!
While the tutorial calls for 6” x 6” papers, I created my larger flowers by using 12” x 12” scrapbook paper. I love mixing and matching the different paper patterns. Also, I used double-stick tape instead of glue which I think makes things a little quicker and easier.
My plan is to make some smaller flowers and decorate a grapevine wreath. I’d love to see what you do with the flowers if you decide to give them a try!
