This weekend, I took the girls to CYT's production of Honk! (a.ka. The Ugly Duckling). We had a great time with the classic fairytale, but the highlight of the show was about halfway into the production. A tap dancing, singing, frog comes out on stage to talk to the Ugly Duckling (note: up to this point we've seen ducks, chickens, geese, a cat, and swans talk, dance, and sing..... but this is the first frog). As the frog comes to stage, my 3-yr-old daughter exclaims, "Mom, I've never seen a frog dance! Have you seen a frog sing and dance before? That's JUST crazy!"
I still laugh as I think about it... dancing geese? Makes perfect sense. Singing cats? Of course. A dancing frog? Now, THAT.... THAT is just crazy!
I can't tell you how many times I have been told by mothers with older children just how important it is to write down the cute things our kids say. I try to remember to do that. I often use their sayings for my facebook posts (I should print out all my status updates one of these days just for that purpose). But, I don't always remember to write them down. We get busy, we think we'll do it later, and we don't.
So, I have 3 questions:
1) Do you have a method for recording your cute memories and things your kids say? Any great ideas?
2) What is the cutest thing your child has said lately?
3) Have YOU ever seen a frog dance?
