Are you hearing any “I’m bored’s” at your house yet? Fortunately, we have been staying pretty busy, but I know by the time summer rounds the Fourth of July corner, I’ll be dealing with some increasingly bored kiddos. I’ve noticed as the days get hotter, the boredom increases.
Natalie’s birthday is at the end of July, and in brainstorming some different, and creative party invites, we came up with an idea of a cootie catcher invite. (I hate that term, don’t you? Let’s just say “fortune teller.”) But in my online quest for instructions on how to make a fortune teller (which is more complicated than making a 56-page magazine, it seems), I stumbled across a few cute things I just had to share.
This forture teller, from Skip to My Lou, can be found here. I love it because it gives you two options. One is a summer boredom buster, with choices like “read a new book or go on a nature walk” or “have a water fight or make your bed.” The second page of the PDF is a blank version so that you (or your kids!) can fill it in just for fun.
And for that party invite, here is a cute take on that from Parents.com (shown above in blog thumbnail). We are going to give a combination of the two a whirl. I love that the possibilites are endless. So for your endless summer days, here’s a fun project!
