No more teacher's dirty looks! Summer is here and I am thrilled! I love summer! In no particular order are a few of the many things I love about the season:
- Unrushed Mornings I like being able to get up, eat breakfast and get dressed in my own time, rather than having to have everyone ready for the day by 7:30.
- Swimming Both of my girls were dolphins in a past life-they LOVE the water and for the first time ever, we have a pool pass. I plan on spending lots of afternoons at the pool.
- Mommy Money I work from home so I came up with a plan for the girls to earn "Mommy Money" each day through the summer. It's easy to earn-all they have to do is not ask me questions while I am working. You may be saying to yourself, "that sounds like a bribe" and you'd be correct.
- Music My husband and I love to see concerts, especially in the great outdoors. They are so many great bands coming to KC this summer. In addition, we have a TON of great local bands that play for free over the summer. Love the 80s? You must see "The Zeros". A U2 fan? Watch "Rattle and Hum" when they perform (or, you can see the boys from Dublin live in STL on July 17-woot, woot!).
- Ice Cream Need I say more?
- Book Club I know, I know, I mentioned "no more books" above, but I don't mean literally no more books. Tori and I are hosting a mother/daughter book club this summer. We're reading Mr. Popper's Penguins and then going to see the movie together. I love books, I love getting together with friends and I love movies-a perfectly fun time for me and Tori.
