The other day I got to thinking about how different of a person I am now after having children. Things that were once very important to me are now not so important, and things that I didn’t spend too much time thinking about BC (before children) now consume my waking thoughts. For better or worse, I am definitely different in many ways since I became a mom. Below are a few of the changes I’ve noticed in myself.
Me Then:
On time (or even early) to every event.
Me Now:
Rushing to be on time, usually end up being a few minutes late
Me Then:
Presents bought and wrapped in at least a week in advance of party or celebration.
Me Now:
Presents bought on the way to parties.
Me Then:
Cards sent so that family and friends receive cards on their actual birthday.
Me Now:
A phone call a week later wishing a belated birthday.
Me Then:
Planned my outfits for the week on Sunday, making sure I didn’t wear an outfit too often in front of the same people.
Me Now:
Grab what’s clean in the morning. More than once my daughter has commented “You’re not walking me into school dressed like that, are you?”. If it’s comfy and clean, you’ve probably seen me in it MANY times.
I could go on and on. What about you? What changes do you see in yourself since becoming a parent?
