Do you do things in order to keep peace in your home? I just realized the other day that there are several ways in which I do it in our home. Ty doesn't like for Tori to leave her radio on when she leaves her room. I don't think that is an unreasonable request, but her leaving the radio on doesn't really bother me. And, I can understand why she sometimes does leave it on. She may be in her room listening to the radio when I call her down to ask her a question or put something away. She runs to answer me and leaves the radio on, assuming she'll be right back and then gets distracted. Ty walks by her room, she's not in there, the radio is on and he gets mad. If I clue into the fact that she is out of her room and the radio is on, I'll run in and turn it off for her so that she isn't in trouble and that Ty is in a good mood.
I remember as a child (and even as an adult) my mom helping keep the peace in our home. I had scraped my the bumper on my dad's car and mom helped smooth the waters so that dad wasn't nearly as angry as I had anticipated.
Is this a mom thing? What are your thoughts on keeping peace in your home?
