This past Monday, on Labor Day, I took my oldest shopping. Her grandma had given her some money for clothes and told her to pick out something special. We went to a store called Justice. I had never been in there before but know it is popular among her friends. While it had a lot of trendy and not age appropriate clothing, we did manage to find some cute outfits. They cost a little more than I like to spend on clothing but with money from grandma it made it more manageable. After getting the clothes we walked around rho mall a little longer and then stopped for a cookie treat. After the cookie we made our way home.
Tori just LOVES the outfits we got there and can't stop talking about what a great time she had. She wrote about it in her journal and cut out the label from the shopping bag and hung it on the bulletin board in her room. It was a great mom/daughter few hours. I often try to plan fun activities for spending one-on-one time with each girl but what I learned Monday is that sometime the simplest, unplanned events turn out the best.
