Let's commiserate, shall we?
If your child or children all sleep soundly through the night, you'll need to scoot on by as today's post isn't the place for you. If you do happen to comment about how all your children have slept through the night for twelve hours straight since they were ten days old, just know I can't be responsible for the comments that come your way. Oh I kid. I know you wouldn't do that. So, seriously, kindly scoot on by!
Two and a half years ago, when my youngest was only a few weeks old, people would ask me if I was getting any sleep. Actually, they did that when all of my babies were born. It's a pretty typical question to ask a mom with a newborn, isn't it? Well, interestingly enough, my sleep then was better than it is now!
Unfortunately, my two year old is waking up multiple times each night. There doesn't seem to be illness or any other discomfort to blame. She doesn't appear scared, she just seems to want to be doing something other than sleeping.
Do you feel my pain? I know someone does as I've recently talked to a few parents who are in the same boat. It's a rocky ride for sure!
If that's where you're at right now, I'm sorry. I know there are much worse things, but not getting enough sleep is no fun for anyone!
I'd love to know how you cope with those stretches of not getting enough sleep. Obviously, life doesn't stop when our shut eye is interrupted, so how do you make sure to keep from falling asleep at the wheel? (I mean that both figuratively and literally!)
For me, I know that exercise, yes even when I'm exhausted, and trying, emphasis on trying, to eat healthy helps. Of course, the more tired I am, the less likely I am to make good choices. (Diet Coke and chocolate chips for an afternoon pick me up, anyone?)
What works for you? Please share! Or tell me your sob/sleepless story. I promise to empathize!
Have great day and hopefully a quiet night!
