In contemplating my blog topic for this week, I was tossing around two ideas when I received a CaringBridge notification that a page I follow had been updated. The page is that for a little girl who attended the same school as my girls and passed away after a brief cancer battle. I don't personally know the family, but am constantly amazed by the grace they display.
They had recently marked the second anniversary of the loss of their child and were reflecting on that event. The main theme of the entry was that "Life is a gift. And it is good." Wow. What powerful words from a family that has been through an unimaginable event. And what a great wake-up call to me as I tend to let the minutiae of every day life get in the way of what's really important-my faith in God and my family.
So as we enjoy this beautiful stretch of weather we've had, I am going to take more time to appreciate the most important gift I've been given with the people that are most important to me.
