The other day, Ally, my younger, walks up and asks me out of the blue, "Is the first time you kiss at the wedding?". I gave the "cop-out" answer of, "Ask your dad". She did, and dad told her that yes, the first time you do kiss is at the wedding. I guess that is the answer any dad would give his little girl. She came back to me and inquired about her aunt (my sister), who was married last year and wanted to know if Marjorie and Drew kissed before the wedding. I told her that they did and she buried her face in her hands and gave an embarrassed little laugh. She raised her head and asked, "Can birds fly higher than rainbows?". I gave an honest answer to that one (I don't know) and a discussion ensued on birds and how fly they can high. I just had to smile at how the mind of a 6-year-old works. So innocent, sweet and full of wonder!
