I've seen the following situation several times, and I'm not sure how to handle it. I'll see a child or a group of children walking and a car pulls over, rolls down the window, says something to the kids and they get in the car. I am in my car when this happens and I always think, "Do they know that person?"
Now, the trusting part of me likes to think that it was a parent offering a ride home. But there is always this little voice inside my head that wonders "What if they didn't know the person?" I contemplate how to handle it. Do I follow the car and make sure they get to a neighborhood? Pull up beside and ask if the kids know that adult? Then I wonder if I am being too cautious, but then I think when it comes to our kids, there is no such thing as too cautious.
Thoughts? Advice? How do you handle that type of situation?
