Summer is here, and it’s time to get creative for those longer days at home as well as longer road trips! These cute I Spy jars are easy to make and fun to play with!
Supplies:
- Empty, clean plastic jar with a lid (we used an old sunflower butter jar)
- Assorted small toys and trinkets (examples: a random puzzle piece, dice, a game piece from a broken game, a toy from a birthday treat bag)
- White rice
- Elmer’s glue
- Optional: Plastic tote to catch rice
Directions:
- Wash plastic jar, removing any food on the inside and labels on the outside. Allow to completely dry.
- Place toys and trinkets into the plastic jar. Do not overstuff the jar.
- Set jar in plastic tote and add rice. Move the jar around to allow the rice to hide the toys. Fill the rice to about an inch from the top.
- Apply glue to the inside ring of the jar lid. (Do not apply glue to the inside top part of the lid or the rice will stick to it!) Screw on the lid and allow to dry overnight.
- In the morning, enjoy your homemade I Spy jar and take turns finding the hidden objects!
