I don’t know about you, but we have been busy this year. I’m really ready for this school year to end, and am definitely re-evaluating what we commit to for next year. But, in the meantime I need a low key summer break. I know everyone has bucket-lists, and must-see and gotta-do’s and can’t be missed lists, and I get it (normally). But, I am here to say: the pressure’s off! You do not have to make it to the Zoo AND DeAnna Rose (weekly) or see every single discounted movie, or be at every festival, block party and concert. In fact, I think it is going to be really good for my kids so slow down and just be. Summer gives us a great opportunity for less is more.
So, I have created a bucket-free list for the summer. I plan to cut these out and put them in a jar, and let the kids pick one out each day (or every other day, or once per week) – there is no pressure to get it done – it is a pressure-free way to learn to relax. And to enjoy. And to unplug.
Some of the suggestions include:
- Bake something from scratch.
- Listen to music.
- Watch the clouds go by.
- Read.
- Take a nap.
- Meditate.
- Have a jammie day.
- Eat a meal outside.
So, enjoy! I hope it makes your summer seem a bit lazier and a little more zen.
