The Sprint Family Fun Series in the Power and Light District is a terrific outing for families! On the second Saturday of the month through October, the Power and Light area becomes a great spot to spend the day with the family. Kids of all ages will enjoy the many activities available (and parents, too!).
Sprint Family Fun Days: Power and Light District
Tips for a Great Day at Sprint Family Fun Days:
- Parking is cheap, you just need to know where to go! Park in the KC Live and Main Street Parking Garages for just $2. The KC Live Garage is located at 13th & Grand Blvd. The Main Garage is located off of Main Street, adjacent to Cosentino's. Bring your voucher to any Power & Light District business for validation.
- Admission to the event is free, but some of the premium activities like rides and face painting will require tickets. Tickets are sold 2-for-$1 or 12-for-$5. Proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City.
- Activities take place outdoors. Be sure to bring sunscreen and drink lots of water.
- Public restrooms are located near the Tango Sed Cantina restaurant in the KC Live area. All the times I’ve visited the restrooms, I’ve been impressed with the cleanliness.
- Strollers and wagons are welcome.
- Enjoy lunch at one of the Power and Light restaurants. Some of our favorites include the Burger King Whopper Bar, the Pizza Bar, Chipotle and Bar Louie (try the soft pretzel appetizer at Bar Louie-super yummy!). Save room for a baked goods from Mema’s Bakery.
- Check the website before heading out for a list of specific times for different events.
