I often think about how our grocery shopping habits are so different from those of past generations. Growing up we basically stocked up at the nearest grocery stores based on weekly ads in the paper. Every grocery store carried the same products for the most part, so you could get everything you wanted at one stop.
My kids have asked why I go to the trouble to frequent multiple stores - and the answer is: one of my favorite stores consistently offers the lowest prices on staples and most of what we use (yes, I'm an Aldi-mom), another has special products that we LOVE LOVE LOVE (Trader Joe's knows the way to our hearts and tastebuds with many of our family favorites), another runs regular meat specials (Price Chopper), another is close to extra-curricular activities when we need just a few items (Hy-Vee), and sometimes we use curbside pick up at other stores for household staples (I don't love shopping at Walmart, but the curbside option converted me... not having to go INSIDE makes a big difference). The result? I frequent multiple grocery stores in a given month.
And, with four kids participating in different extra-curricular activities, our family's propensity for inviting friends over (as often as possible), and all that means... there have been times I have walked into the house with grocery bags only to have a child greet me with, "I just finished the milk / peanut butter / bread / eggs while you were out." UGH!
Has this ever happened to you?
There is a NEW service in town for JUST such circumstances. EasyBins allows you to order groceries from multiple stores (including ALL of my favorites plus a few more) online. They deliver the products to your door saving you the hassle of yet another errand. They offer a Zero-Order Minimum, and do not accept tips - so you can even order one gallon of milk and have it delivered if that is all you need.
I recently tried out EasyBins and placed a small order. My order was delivered on my porch at 6am (they leave it quietly in foam coolers with ice packs so all refrigerated items remain cool). I was able to pick up the food that morning, then return the empty bins to my porch where they pick them up to use for the next order. I chose products from multiple stores and they were all delivered straight to my porch. This is especially nice with the busyness of the holiday season!
So, what are you waiting for? Give EasyBins a try. And, save $5 off FIRST ORDER with code: KCPARENTS
