KC Parent Pro Tip: If you’ve got truly little ones, consider looking for a sensory-friendly hour, which many Touch-a-Truck events offer. I first took my little guy when he was just over a year old and already fully obsessed with anything on wheels. He loved seeing all the trucks, but the constant honking and sirens were pretty overwhelming and freaked him out a little. A quieter sensory-friendly time can be a much better first Touch-a-Truck experience for toddlers and younger kids.
Smithville Touch-A-Truck
Sept. 12, 9 a.m.-noon
Heritage Park, Smithville, MO

Shawnee Mission Parents as Teachers is hosting a Touch-A-Truck as one of its 2026-27 Group Connection events. Families can check out vehicles up close at the Career & Technical Center. Touch-a-Truck is just one part of the fun at RoeFest, Roeland Park’s 75th birthday celebration.
