Fall at Worlds of Fun is full of Halloween fun, and you don’t have to love spooky surprises to enjoy it! We visited during the park’s family-friendly Tricks & Treats celebration and found plenty of festive activities, seasonal treats and favorite rides for younger guests to enjoy.
From costumed Peanuts characters and Halloween crafts to delicious fall goodies, there’s something magical about experiencing Worlds of Fun this time of year. Here’s how to make the most of your visit with little ones, plus a look at the park’s other seasonal celebrations.
Our Experience: How to Enjoy a Not-So-Scary Day at Worlds of Fun
1. Arrive early for a full day of fall fun.
If you’re visiting with younger children, plan to arrive early so you can enjoy the rides, activities and Halloween festivities without feeling rushed. On Halloween Haunt dates, the park begins transitioning from daytime family fun to its nighttime scare experience in the early evening. We recommend wrapping up your visit before the spooky festivities begin, especially if you have little ones who aren’t quite ready for Halloween frights.
2. Don’t miss Planet Snoopy!
Planet Snoopy is extra festive during the fall season, with beloved Peanuts characters dressed in adorable Halloween costumes. Along with enjoying our favorite rides, we stopped by a seasonal craft station for some hands-on Halloween fun. It’s a great spot for younger children to soak up the holiday excitement without anything too scary.
3. Treat yourself to something seasonal.
One of the fun surprises of visiting during fall is discovering all the Halloween-inspired food and drinks throughout the park. Wee loved seeing creative seasonal offerings on the menus, including colorful Monster Munch Popcorn and the delightfully spooky Murder Mystery Shake. Even a snack break can feel like part of the Halloween celebration!

Oktoberfest
Sundays, September 20–October 18
Celebrate fall with a taste of Germany at Worlds of Fun’s Oktoberfest! Head to the Europa section of the park for Bavarian-inspired food, festive music and family-friendly entertainment. Enjoy seasonal favorites like bratwurst, beer cheese soup and German chocolate cake while soaking up the lively atmosphere. Don’t forget to snap a few fall family photos among the festive decorations!
Tricks & Treats
Saturdays & Sundays, September 19–November 1
This is the celebration for families who love Halloween fun without the fright! Enjoy trick-or-treating, seasonal treats, festive entertainment and special character photo opportunities throughout the park.
Little ones can explore the hay bale maze, pick up a mini pumpkin and get creative at the Trick or Treat Kids Craft station. If your kids love dressing up, don’t miss Count Snooptacula’s costume contest, with prizes for the cutest, most original and scariest costumes!
Between the activities, be sure to enjoy your favorite rides and keep an eye out for the Peanuts gang in their Halloween costumes. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the season with younger children.

Halloween Haunt

When the sun goes down, Worlds of Fun transforms from family-friendly fall fun into a Halloween experience designed for thrill seekers! Halloween Haunt features haunted mazes, scare zones, live entertainment, roaming monsters and rides in the dark.
While daytime Tricks & Treats is geared toward families, Halloween Haunt features intense scares, loud noises, fog and other special effects. Parental discretion is advised, particularly for families with younger children.
What Parents Need to Know Before Visiting
If you’re planning a family visit to Tricks & Treats, keep these important details in mind:
- Arrive early! On Halloween Haunt dates, Planet Snoopy closes at 5 p.m., and some attractions may close earlier in the afternoon as the park prepares for the evening festivities.
- There is no park re-entry after 6 p.m. on Halloween Haunt dates.
- Check the daily entertainment schedule when you arrive so you don’t miss your family’s favorite activities.
- If your children are sensitive to scary characters or Halloween effects, plan to leave before the transition to Halloween Haunt begins.

Even the food gets a Halloween makeover! Whether you’re craving something sweet or looking for a hearty meal between rides, be on the lookout for these limited-time seasonal specialties.
- Murder Mystery Shake: A strawberry shake topped with gummy body parts for a deliciously spooky twist. Find it at Sand Dune Diner.
- Detroit Style BBQ Pizza: Thick-crust pizza loaded with mozzarella, cheddar, smoky burnt ends, creamy mac sauce, BBQ sauce and red onion. Available at River City Grill.
- Funeral Potatoes: Sliced potatoes smothered in creamy cheese sauce and topped with sautéed onions and dried chives. Find them at River City Grill.
- Swamp Monster Burger: A juicy burger topped with creamy spinach artichoke dip. Available at G’Rilla Grill.
