The World Aquarium, housed on the second floor of the City Museum, is an aquarium unlike any other... this is a "touch and feel" aquarium with many unique features. Dip your hand into a pool of doctor fish where the little fish eat the dead skin from your fingers, a perfectly safe, but somewhat eerie and ticklish experience. Touch stingrays, starfish, sea urchins, and more. With tortoises, paddle fish, aquatic turtles, gulping fish, angelfish, sea urchines, giant puffers, and more your family will discover sea life from around the world. The highlight for our family was crawling through the shark tank where an underwater tube (clear tunnel) lets you explore inside the tank with sharks swimming all around as you're protected in the tunnel. In Stingray City you can walk into the tank and get an eye level view. With tanks you can climb through and around, you get a view of sea life that is one of a kind and all surrounded by the sculptures of Bob Cassilly. Exhibits include educational information about the animals and programs include public feedings, turtle races and more.
