Hear from Susan Myers\, Kayla Walisch\, and Aggrey Chemwa from Save Giraffes Now as they discuss their work to help giraffes live freely and safely in the woodlands and savannas of their native habitat. \nLearn how the Zoo is partnering with Save Giraffes Now on unique co-existence projects in Kenya\, including a research study of the Lukenya Railroad underpass and the funding of two crucial water pans on the Olosira Community Conservancy. The Athi-Kapiti Region of Kenya serves as a wildlife corridor connecting the Nairobi National Park to National Parks\, and giraffes are greatly impacted as habitat loss and human population growth are the biggest factors in their conservation struggle. This presentation will highlight how this organization is developing practical solutions to human-wildlife conflict to support giraffe populations! \nGeneral admission tickets are $15\, Friends of the Zoo (FOTZ) member tickets are $10\, and student tickets are $5.\nVIP tickets are $40 for adults and $20 for children. DESCRIPTION:Friends of the Zoo (FOTZ) members are invited to walk through the construction site where Giraffe Crossing will open in just a few months! The site will be exclusively available to members from 8:30 am to 11:30 am; please show your membership card at the entrance. \nThe Zoo encourages you to arrive before 10:30 am to allow plenty of time to travel to the giraffe habitat and tour. If you prefer to ride rather than walk\, the African Tram will provide free transport from World Gate to Africa Market and back for FOTZ members that day. The African Sky Safari will also be operational and is free for premier members as always. For guests with mobility issues\, the Zoo will provide transportation from the Africa Market to the African Kopje area near the construction site\, and then back to the Market. Please keep in mind that there will still be a short distance to walk\, including some uneven pathways made of gravel or plywood at the site. As this is an active construction site\, closed-toe shoes are required for all. \nDuring the sneak peek\, the Zoo will have staff on hand to answer all your questions about the Giraffe Crossing project\, as well as provide information about how you can support the fundraising effort. Since construction is ongoing\, the giraffe herd continues to be behind-the-scenes and will not be available for viewing.

DESCRIPTION:Celebrate love in the animal kingdom with a night of all-new hilarious skits performed by some of Kansas City’s finest theater actors! Kiss & Tail promises an unforgettable\, 21+ evening of comedy on Saturday\, February 14. In addition to learning about some of the world’s most unique mating rituals\, you’ll meet some of the Zoo’s animal ambassadors before the show and take home complimentary chocolates from Russell Stover! Two show times are available at 6 pm and 8:30 pm. \nWe are excited to also offer a VIP experience with dinner stations at Sobela Ocean Aquarium before the second show!
