We LOVE to make Valentine Cards (pun intended)! Every year, we buy blank jigsaw puzzles at U.S. Toy, then stamp them with the girls' handprints and names. I then keep each puzzle in a ziplock bag and the girls then make Valentines - one per puzzle piece (9 or 12). We mail one piece inside a Valentine every day leading up to Valentine's Day to each set of Grandparents. Because this project requires a bit of time and planning, we've already started on this year's cards! And, because the project results in so many designs, I'm always on the look out for new ideas. So, this is my plan... I'll share some ideas with you if YOU will share some ideas with me!
Here are 3 Valentines we made this year:
LOVE BUG Valentine: How to - Use cardstock and fold card in half. On the cover, stamp thumb prints using different colors of ink from stamp pads. Draw legs, antennae, and a smile on the caterpillar. Draw a garden scene. Write, "Be My Love Bug."
FISH VALENTINE: How To- Use Foam Heart Stickers (any heart stickers or cut outs cut and paste will work) and arrange to make fish and bubbles.
LADYBUG VALENTINE: How To - Cut out two circles - one red, one white or clear (we used plastic from Wonderscope's Recycled Materials Center). Write a message on the white circle. Draw dots on the red circle. Cut the red circle in half. Make a small black head and glue on googly eyes. Hole punch all three circles in one spot for the brad - black on bottom, clear in the middle, red (both halves) on top). Slip brad through the hole and fasten.
So, those are three ideas to get you started making homemade Valentines. Please share your creative homemade Valentine Ideas with us!
