Holiday Lighting Ceremonies

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! From mid-November to mid-December all across the Kansas City metro, switches are flipped, and the city is decked out in holiday splendor!

  Santa Claus is coming to Independence Center & lighting our tree with the magic of the holidays. Yuletide carols & sweet treats will make spirits bright at this FREE event!

• Holiday Lighting Ceremony at The Village at Briarcliff

  At 6pm, help us countdown turning on our holiday lights with a special fireworks show to follow. Afterwards, head over to the Royal Room (located in the SE corner of the Village) to enjoy a FREE concert by the Air Force Band of Mid-America.

• Independence Square Holiday Lighting

  Join us as we ring in the holiday at the annual Square Lighting. Kids can visit Santa and enjoy free holiday activities and more. Enjoy shopping and food specials. We've added even more lights this year bringing almost one mile of holiday lights.

• Martin City 2019 Holiday Lighting

  Nov. 15: Turn Friday Night into Family Fun Night at the Annual Holiday Lighting in Martin City! Bobby Eddy - Professional DJ will kick off the event with holiday music and the St. Thomas More Parish - Kansas City Children's Choir will sing.

• Mayor's Holiday Tree Lighting: Downtown Overland Park

  Join us as we kick off the holiday season in Downtown Overland Park!

• Tree Lighting Ceremony: Ward Parkway Center

  Enjoy family-friendly activities including Donut decorating with Hurts Donut - Kansas City! There will also be live performances by Center Elementary, Boone Elementary (2nd and 3rd grade students) and the Mighty Marching Yellow Jacket HS Band.

  Featuring Kansas City's largest indoor tree lighting ceremony, a breathtaking performance by Quixotic, FREE Holiday mini-train rides, Holiday Model Trains and so much MORE! Family-friendly activities and special stage performances will fill the halls

• Lighted Christmas Parade & Mayor's Tree Lighting

  In 2019, the Christmas kickoff will be held on November 23 with a lighted Christmas parade and Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting. The day will also feature the Elf Factory, allowing children to create crafts for a small fee and wrap them as gifts.

  Kick off the holidays with Raymore Parks & Recreation at the Mayor's Tree Lighting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at T.B. Hanna Station. Enjoy complimentary cookies, hot chocolate and photos with Santa!

• 2019 Mayor's Christmas Tree Lighting: Gladstone

  This annual tradition features the Linden Square light show, holiday music from local school choirs, speeches from local officials and a visit from Santa Claus himself as well as the Linden Square Skate Rink.

• The Magic Tree Lighting Ceremony & Santa Night

  Join us as we celebrate the start of another season of magic on Tuesday, November 26th! The lighting ceremony will begin at 6pm, and Santa will be there to hear wishlists and take photos!
