Welcome to my hometown—where the fragrance of barbecue is always in the air!

We love our city and we hope you do, too! As you flip the pages of KC Going Places, you’ll learn of our signature fountains and their rich history, get acquainted with some of our most famous citizens and historic sites and discover the newest attractions, exhibits and events.

Visitors often ask me, “If you only have a few days—what would you see?” That is impossible to answer with a one-size-fits-all solution, but we’ve collected a great multigenerational itinerary for families, top picks for kids, seasonal favorites and recommendations for visitors of all abilities.

For a “quick overview” of the city, be sure to visit downtown where you can enjoy shopping at Crown Center, playing with children at Legoland, taking a trip to the top of the tower at the National WWI Museum and Memorial and visiting Union Station. Take a ride aboard the free KC Streetcar where you can enjoy stops along the way, including the KC Power & Light District and City Market.
