DIY Initial Art
This DIY initial art is the perfect and inexpensive way to add a personal touch to your baby's nursery.
Materials needed:
- Cardboard (Cardboard initials can be purchased at your local craft store if you prefer, or you can even use a shipping or cereal box.)
- Material to cover your initial (Be creative! Scrapbook paper, fake flowers, buttons, pom-poms, glitter, etc.)
- Hot glue/regular glue
- Writing utensil
- Scissors
Step one: Free-hand your initial onto the cardboard using your writing utensil or print one from your computer. Cut out and trace.
Optional step: To create a 3D letter, cut strips of cardboard approximately an inch-and-a-half in width and attach along the sides with hot glue.
Step two: Use either hot glue or regular glue to cover the initial (hot glue will work better for heavier materials, such as fake flowers, buttons, etc.). Regular glue or glue sticks work just fine for scrapbook paper or glitter.
Step three: Find the perfect spot in your child's nursery to display his or her initial! These look great on bookshelves, as a statement piece for an open wall or as part of a collage.
