Goin' on a Gnome Hunt

This spring, Ceramic Cafe invites you to go on a Gnome Hunt! Ceramic Cafe is our favorite local paint-your-own-pottery shop. We love supporting local small businesses and this is such a fun and memorable way to do that. Ceramic Cafe offers a wide selection of ceramics to paint, as well as glass fusing workshops and fun events throughout the year. This spring, they are hosting a Gnome Hunt and we can't wait!

Ceramic Cafe hid 750 amazing gnomes at local parks and they are asking YOU to find them. The map below lists the parks where gnomes will be hidden (Hint: All gnomes will be hiding within view of a playground). Anyone who finds one of their gnomes is invited to come to Ceramic Cafe and paint it free of charge. (Limit one gnome per person. If multiple gnomes are found within the same family or friend group, that is fine. They simply ask that there is one gnome per painter.) Ceramic Cafe will fire the gnome in their kiln, have it ready for pick up in a few days, and it will be your souvenir to keep.

• Ceramic Café

  Includes a walking trail, tennis & basketball courts, playgrounds, and the Dodge Town Play Area.

• Black Hoof Park

  Black Hoof Park is a 160-acre park featuring 35-acre, deep-water Lake Lenexa. The park offers a unique dam and spillway, several miles of trails through open grass and wooded areas and fun natural play areas for children.

• Blue Springs Rotary Park

  Rotary Park at Railroad Lake is a treasured and well used park in the Blue Springs community. Throughout the year, it hosts many weddings and the summer concerts in the park series.

• English Landing Park

  English Landing Park is a 68-acre facility with several amenities, including three miles of walking trails, a large playground area, a boat ramp, picnic shelters, sand volleyball court and a disc golf course.

• Franklin Park

  Franklin Park pavilion is available to reserve as either a whole or you may rent the north or south end. Each end of the pavilion has 4 eight foot tables and 1 child's table.

• Frontier Park

  Amenities include a pirate-themed playground, two softball fields, a soccer field, a basketball goal, and access to the Indian Creek Trail.

• Gezer Park

  This 10 acre park is located at 133rd and Mission Road and includes a walking trail, public art, two shelters, a restroom, playground, Havdalah garden, ceremonial fire pit, and other amenities.

• I-Lan Park

  This 10-acre park is located at 126th Street and Nall Ave. and includes: one shelter pavilion with restrooms, one additional shelter with a grill, a trail that connects to the Leawood trail system on the east, and the Overland Park trail to the west.

• Leawood City Park

  This 66 acre park consists of eleven soccer fields, six lighted tennis courts, three basketball goals, two baseball fields, two sand volleyball courts, one all-inclusive NEW playground, one half-mile loop jogging trail, and serves as the trail head.

• Lowenstein Park

  Donated in 1968 by the Lowenstein brothers, it has since been developed into a 17.7 acre park with three picnic shelters with picnic tables, one basketball goal, open space area, a playground area, a one mile concrete trail and parking.

• McCoy Park - Independence

  Ramps, adaptive swings, and smooth flooring ensure that this pioneer-themed playground is accessible to all.

• Meadowbrook Park

  Meadowbrook Park in Prairie Village affords 80 acres of green space and many new programming opportunities.

• Porter Park

  Porter Park pavilion is available to reserve. The pavilion is lighted with 4 eight foot tables and 1 grill. There is 1 electrical outlet in the pavilion.

• Roe Park

  Roe Park is a 40.1-acre community park with many amenities and spaces to keep the whole family active and busy, including several fields, a large playground with splash pad, and connection to the bike and hike trails.

• Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park

  Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park is 50.9 acres and includes many amenities for everyone. It is home to the Legler Barn Museum, several sporting courts, a nine-hole disc golf course and four shelters available to rent.

• Thomas S. Stoll Memorial Park

  Thomas S. Stoll Memorial Park is an 80-acre park featuring a picturesque walking trail, picnic shelter, picnic areas, playground, a small pond, a seven-acre dog off-leash area, and seven athletic playing fields.

• Valley Park - Grandview

  Valley Park stands as one of the most unique parks not just in the Grandview area, but the entire surrounding Kansas City Metro.

• West Flanders Park

  A beautiful park with a playground, sports field, garden, and walking trails.

• Wyandotte County Lake & Park

  1500 acres, 400 acre lake for fishing and boating, 16 shelters, all with water, electricity, playground equipment and restrooms.
